The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has introduced ‘Apna Ghar‘, a nationwide initiative offering truck drivers hygienic and safe resting spaces. This initiative aims to enhance the safety, health, and comfort of India’s trucking workforce.

As of July 1, 2025, there are 368 ‘Apna Ghar’ units with 4,611 beds set up along highways. These facilities are located at retail fuel outlets of Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on national and state highways for easy access by long-haul drivers.
