SSC GD Selection Process 2025

To get qualified and shortlisted for the vacancies, candidates have to go through each stage of the selection process as discussed below. 

  1. Written examination (Computer Based): There will be 80 Multiple Choice Questions with 2 marks each and a negative marking of 0.25 marks, The duration to complete the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour) with no sectional timing.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).
  3. Medical Test- The last stage of the selection process which is mandatory to check whether the selected candidates are medically fit or not. After the medical test, the candidates shortlisted will have to appear for document verification.

SSC GD Exam Pattern 2025

The SSC GD Constable Tier 1 test will be administered online using a multiple-choice format. The CBT exam lasts 60 minutes and consists of 4 sections totaling 80 questions. The SSC has set benchmarks for the Physical Efficiency Test, and candidates who achieve higher than these marks in the GD Online exam will be able to take it.

Note: Pregnant candidates will be disqualified at this stage and will not be accepted if they are pregnant at the time of the physical examination. The ex-servicemen who make the computer-based examination short list must show up for the PET/PST stage in order to have their height, chest, and weight measured exclusively. For these applicants who are ex-servicemen, PET will not be held. They will also need to meet the requirements for a Medical Examination (DME).
