SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2023
- The question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice only.
- The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.
- There will be a negative marking equal to one-third of the marks allotted to the question for each wrong answer in Computer Based Examination.

Skill Test in Stenography
Candidates who qualify in the Computer Based Examination will need to participate in the Skill Test for Stenography. During this test, candidates will receive one dictation lasting 10 minutes in either English or Hindi (based on the candidate’s preference in the online Application Form). The dictation will be at a speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the position of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the position of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The dictated matter must then be transcribed on a computer. The transcription time is as follows:

SSC Stenographer General Intelligence & Reasoning
The examination will encompass questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. It will cover topics such as analogies, similarities, and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, and more. SSC Stenographer General Awareness
The questions will be formulated to assess the candidate’s general awareness of the environment and its relevance to society. They will also evaluate knowledge of current events and matters of everyday observation and experience, emphasizing their scientific aspects as anticipated from an educated individual.
